Anti Gun: Alphabetical List of the Left
Anti Gun
This is a project to help all the people who are fighting the second amendment (and in some cases the the tenth amendment) fight. Occasionally you need to know what you are dealing with, and this list is a resource for understanding the key figures in the arguments from the left side.
To be Anti Gun, seemingly is to eschew all moral responsibility and ethical determination in favor of blaming an inanimate object for the degradation of society. To be Anti Gun is in a sense to be Anti American, as guns have permeated our DNA, they are a part of our history, and are fundamental to our freedom and protection as much today as the were at the start of America. The anti gun crowd can’t accept that fact based studies show that crime is impacted very little by guns in the grand scheme of things. A 2000 study by Don Kates and Daniel Polsby cited that despite a 160% rise in handguns (103% in overall total guns) from the 25 year period starting in 1973 and ending in 1997 homicide rates in fact dropped by almost 28%. It’s raining cold hard facts up in here. To be anti gun is to be the enemy of all things freedom and constitution related.
The point is this though: If you don’t choose to exercise your right, and you choose to dislike firearms, no one on the right will try to force you to have of buy or use one, so why not just let it be? You hate because you fear. You fear because you do not understand. You do not understand because you are blinded by the emotion involved with the human side of gun violence. We Pro Gun people are affected as much as you are by gun violence, and we have no tolerance for the blatant disregard of human life that many criminals have. That does not meant hat our rights as law abiding citizens must be altered to defend a theory that has yet to be proven on any stage, anywhere. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
I am anti as well: anti-criminal and anti -freedom takers; I’m anti-uninformed political action and I am anti ridiculousness. I could never be anti gun, because I believe that the responsibility lies within the user of the firearm. The anti gun folks should look at ways to control people’s behavior, no some object that can be used to help fulfill a desire. Outlaw guns, and then the next thing will be knives and swords, and then forks, and then spoons and then dinner plates. If someone wants to kill another human being, there are myriad ways, the gun is simply a single choice that they may have access to, if they can pass the already rigorous enough procedure to get one.
For as long as studies on crime have existed, there has been information to suggest that violent criminals are neither willing to follow laws nor are they getting their weapons in legal and normal manners. It goes without saying: if a criminal wishes to kill someone, and they choose to use a gun, the possibility of using a legally obtained, “registered” firearm is very low.
Did you know that in 1997, 70% of all those people arrested for murder using a gun were criminals with THREE OR MORE prior drug related charges? But it’s the gun that controls the criminal right?
Did you know that 70% of the minors killed in drive by shootings in Los Angeles were documented affiliates and members of violent street gangs?
Did you know that between 1990 and 1996 in Philadelphia that over 85% of murder victims had a criminal history or tested positive in their autopsy for illegal drugs?
Did you know that approximately only 15% of ALL AMERICANS have ANY type of criminal record, yet over 70% of all murderers using a firearm have a criminal record (that number could be as high as 80% when you factor in studies outside of the FBI and federal agency data to include local law enforcement studies)?
Anti gun people don’t look at studies, they rely on the hard hitting emotions that come in the immediate aftermath of a school shooting or a innocent child being killed. Anti gun people prey on the opportunity given by a tragic event to turn the heads of those who will listen. Facts need not be present to persuade people, as we learned in the 2008 election and the subsequent presidency.
Disclaimer:
By the way, I must point out that not all Lefties hate guns. In fact you’d be surprised by who is a gun advocate. Many prominent people who you would naturally think are Leftist gun grabbers, are in fact leftist, GUN LOVERS.
Be careful how you handle the blanket accusations during your fight for the right way. Using left handed tactics is what makes those guys so annoying and ridiculous after all.
Arm yourself with information.
