Forget about a Zombie gun, I’ve got a Tac 15

You know the guy in just about every Zombie movie/book/trailer/show/event that has the crossbow?  The slightly crazy, perhaps a bit reclusive yet staggeringly dangerous guy who can kill a zombie from across a lake with a  crossbow, adjusting for wind speed, zombie movement and atmospheric pressure.  Every secretly kind of wanted to be that guy? Yeah I thought so.  Well your time has come superstar, step up and get counted amongst the slightly crazy tactical assault crossbow wielding masses: the line starts over there.

A tactical assault crossbow is also a distinctly non-zombie product, depending on who you ask, it’s just that perhaps most people not enthused by zombie culture have never gotten as giddy about anything as the Zombie lovers have about the Tac 15.

SO what is it?

AR Platform

It’s pure evil.  The AR platform with a crossbow on top.  But not just any crossbow, a bad ass crossbow capable of delivering quite a shot. The Tac 15 utilizes the AR platform to deliver 400 feet per second and 150 foot pounds of energy from an arrow.

A tactical assault crossbow may seem like a bit of a joke to those who have been using guns for years, but to any “seasoned Zombie hunter”, a crossbow is almost as important as a good gun.  What happens when the Zombie Apocalypse rolls around to your town and you need to keep quite to avoid attracting other hordes of the undead?  That’s right, you need a capable and easy to use crossbow.  PSE, the maker of the Tac 15 accomplished the perfect harmony between crossbow hunting and tactical looks.  In the end, it doesn’t matter what side you are on about the “tacticool” debate, this thing is pretty awesome.

Again, don’t care about zombies? Don’t believe there will ever be a slow moving (or God forbid fast moving) horde of once live/once dead flesh and/or brain eating ghouls? Then this thing still makes sense for the guy just starting to get into non-gun hunting.  Perfect for turkey’s, deer, or any other animals commonly taken with a bow or x-bow. The AR platform was a stroke of genius unlike many other third party wannabees who produce ridiculous add-ons, PSE got this one right.  The Tac 15 is a bad looking weapon, an excellent hunting companion and a cool talking point and a piece your friends will envy.

Tac 15, Tac 15i

It can be scoped, delivers excellent performance and even comes in a version that doesn’t require an AR platform to be mounted on.  The Tac 15i is a self contained unit which delivers the same good looks, fully adjustable stock and power as the Tac 15 built on the AR Lower receiver.

Tac 10, Tac 10i

There is also a more compact version made by PSE in the Tac 10 and Tac 10i, the Tac 15’s younger brother.   There is an almost negligible difference in fps and ft.lb E: the littler x-bow delivers 350 fps and about 110 Ft lb. Energy.

So whether you just want to add some versatility to your AR as a hunter or want to build a dedicated Crossbow on the AR platform, the Tac 15 is the choice, there is NO OTHER.

Whether you are hunting deer in Michigan or hunting Zombies on the outskirts of Atlanta like Sheriff Rick Grimes, the Tac 15 is a beast of a tool.

Daryl Dixon never had it so good with his crossbow, I’m willing to bet he covets the Tac 15, and hopefully the crew can work it into the cast so you guys can see it in action on the silver screen.

Love Zombies or hate them, you must admit there are few other AR-15 add-ons as cool looking or functional as this one when it comes to adding versatility.

I’ve not fired one, but I’d consider it as the only logical choice for my first Crossbow (that I have owned personally), just because I’m not sure I would want to use anything else after seeing the Tac 15.  Call me crazy, I am perhaps caught up in the hype of this thing, but it serves multiple purposes for me: stalking of wild turkey, deer and hogs, as well as quiet stalking of the undead should the need ever arise. Was that a joke or wasn’t it?  I can’t think of too many other add-ons for the AR platform other than the .50 Beowulf that actually make as much sense for versatility as the Tac 15.
