Hope and Change: the Nation of Obama
The secret service is watching. No really, they are. In fact, they were watching well before the general election in 2008. IN fact, they started watching for the people vs. Obama well before they have ever historically been installed in history relative to a candidacy.
Obama ran on hope and change, bashed a “wasteful government” vowed to remove government from the lives of citizens where possible, help establish jobs and lower taxes; Obama vowed to get this economy going. And then he got elected. He had changed the mind of a predominantly conservative nation, persuaded a moderate faction to vote for a different style. The problem was evident before we ever got to that point though: this was a Freshman Senator; a first time participant in the federal Government. Obama was infinitely electable with the liberal media behind him, but a first-timer none the less.
Obama has bought the farm AND lost the plot.
It’s not that one can fully prove that Barack Obama is a bad person at heart, or necessarily has the worst interest of the United States in the back of his mind. But one doesn’t need to really try to prove it. They need not look further than the pages of the motion filed in a district court in Arizona (or the 3 years of preceding fact finding associated with it) which states that he is unable to run for President or stand as President in the United States of America. His father was not a United States Citizen, never mind the dodgy birth certificate issue and the admissions by Grandma, and others. You need not look farther than the decision to question the power of the Supreme Court in matters of overturning the decisions of elected officials. He did this in public to get a sound byte of himself looking strong, while actually looking tired and sounding even more tired. You and I, as non-politician citizens know THAT IS the point of the Supreme Court. Some of the standing judges are products of the Obama administration: interesting. One need not look further than the awkward whispering to the Russian leader recently to see that there is a wealth of proof that the only thing that matters to Barack Obama is himself and his legacy.
Well, it’s not quite the legacy most Presidents would want associated with their names. He won’t even be able to run on his record of “change” in the reelection. Well, Republicans could only hope for such a tactic, as it would ensure their victory swiftly and without hurdles.
The other night, I watched two channels over the course of three hours with a liberal. One channel was Fox, the other was MSNBC, it was during the Hannity vs. The Ed Show hour. Sarah Palin was a guest on Hannity, there were less prominent guests on the other channel. At the end of the three hours (this was during the primary nights in three areas including D.C. and Wisconsin) this self affirming liberal viewing with me was a Conservative. The game changer? She actually heard Obama talking for more than the sound byte that gets played on the nightly news. She heard Obama challenge the Supreme Court to avoid yet another failure in office. She heard him talk about how Trayvon Martin looks like his unborn son. She heard pundits from both sides give their version of the “Russian” discussion. She heard Mitt Romney and others talk about their goals, the facts and then she looked at me and said: “Obama is a fool if he believes that we don’t see he is a hypocritical lying idiot”. I reminded her that only minutes earlier she was a liberal who believed we were able to fix the problems we face with Obama at the head of our country. She admitted she didn’t know any better because she didn’t ever watch the talk shows, only what they play on the news. She admitted her disconnection to reality played out by the media was a downfall in the liberal ideology, rather than their shining star. She also said this: I would rather pay more for birth control or medical care than a man, if it prevented our country from becoming a second world nation, or going fully bankrupt.
Memorable quotes by Barack Obama regarding Hope and Change:
August 19 2008: “If we think that we can secure our country by just talking tough without acting tough and smart, then we will misunderstand this moment and miss its opportunities. If we think that we can use the same partisan playbook where we just challenge our opponent’s patriotism to win an election, then the American people will lose. The times are too serious for this kind of politics.” BHO
Just this week Barack Obama embarked upon a mudslinging campaign to draw attention away from his record and to smear the GOP. The times are entirely too serious for these types of politics Mr. President, indeed.
May 1, 2010: “We can’t expect to solve our problems if all we do is tear each other down. You can disagree with a certain policy without demonizing the person who espouses it. You can question somebody’s views and their judgment without questioning their motives or their patriotism. Throwing around phrases like “socialists” and “Soviet-style takeover” and “fascist” and “right-wing nut” — that may grab headlines, but it also has the effect of comparing our government, our political opponents, to authoritarian, even murderous regimes. Now, we’ve seen this kind of politics in the past. It’s been practiced by both fringes of the ideological spectrum, by the left and the right, since our nation’s birth. But it’s starting to creep into the center of our discourse. And the problem with it is not the hurt feelings or the bruised egos of the public officials who are criticized. Remember, they signed up for it. Michelle always reminds me of that. The problem is that this kind of vilification and over-the-top rhetoric closes the door to the possibility of compromise. It undermines democratic deliberation. It prevents learning –- since, after all, why should we listen to a “fascist,” or a “socialist,” or a “right-wing nut,” or a left-wing nut”? It makes it nearly impossible for people who have legitimate but bridgeable differences to sit down at the same table and hash things out. It robs us of a rational and serious debate, the one we need to have about the very real and very big challenges facing this nation. It coarsens our culture, and at its worst, it can send signals to the most extreme elements of our society that perhaps violence is a justifiable response.” BHO POTUS
Just this week Barack Obama demonized the Budget cuts in Ryan’s budget proposal, along with demonizing the “Right wing conservatives” by saying they would turn a blind eye to the disabled, the seniors and to women as a whole with the budget. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize Ryan’s budget proposal is actually higher than last year, and factors in these social concerns prominently.
As a country we have more debt than ever before, we spend on social policy to gain votes, but not to solve problems and we have yet to implement any of the sweeping changes promised by Barack Obama in 2008 and more recently. It’s important to point out that of the issue, is that Barack Obama feels above the law. He attends team building workshops in Las Vegas which cost $825,000 dollars including clowns (more than just the ones attending), hypnotists (other than the administration attending) and thousands of dollars worth of sushi.
All that talk of curbing wasteful spending, in full effect in this instance, surely.
By the way another job was lost: Obama fired the head of the party planning committee to make an example of them in the wake of the frivolous spending on this Vegas party.
So in 3 years we have managed to pass a health care plan that is being challenged by the Supreme Court for its legality; lost more jobs than any other 3 years period of time in history by percentage of population, increased the debt ceiling to a historical high and campaigned for 55 months of a 40 month presidency. Speeches given as the President of the United States sound more like a battle to win votes rather than to give the public an update on the workings of Government.
We have shelled out more money than in any other administration, and yet, managed to cut military spending by 450 Billion in a time of extreme global instability and at the height of terrorist activity. We have exceeded the right wing’s expectations of Obama’s Hope and change into the disturbing depths of global mediocrity many Republican pundits warned us of.
We have deified a President of the United States to the point where he believes he can do no wrong, no harm, and speak without restraint on any matter he wishes. We are even at risk of letting him become a second term President campaigning on shock stories about racial or economic inequality, poorly reported upon, and not based in fact but instead in rhetoric.
We have allowed a standing President to call into question the constitution of the United States of America, and we have yet to slap him on the hand or put him into his place, because we know the power he holds over the people of this country associate with the Left.
We have allowed sweeping changes to occur, just not the ones Barack Obama promised us. He has truly bought the farm (paid for every single vote and every single social concern with money we don’t even have) and lost the plot (he is clueless in a best case scenario and devious in a more likely scenario). His rhetoric won him election to the most powerful position in the world, but he himself has single-handedly eroded the power associated with the position he currently holds. He can sidestep convention, law, bet practices and sound rationale, because our media and our brainwashed (or uninformed) population is so tired of Washington that they are willing to give everything away and allow Washington to become all powerful, as long as they don’t have to see it. Well, it’s happening, you just have to open your eyes to see it.
Barack Obama is bad for the United States of America. I make you a promise: if you force a liberal to hear the entirety of a week’s worth of Obama talking and then present them with an hour’s worth of facts, the Conservative mindset will return to all those who do this. It’s been decades of build up to get the general population into this mindset of laziness and arm’s length distance from the facts, it only takes a few hours of listening to the words out of Barack Obama’s mouth to change that. He himself can lose this election; we just have to let him do it. His record certainly gives ample room for improvement. I believe in America, not in false “prophets” or undeserving “Saviors” like the one the media has elevated for four years on the dying promise of Hope and Change.
